Trail Maps

» Official Trail Map: Good map showing various trails.

» Redwoodhikes Trail Map: Great map showing many parks like Purisima Creek, Huddart, Wunderlich, El Corte De Madera, Foothills, Hidden Villa and Rancho San Antonio. Trail maps for individual parks are available online for free. However, the RedwoodHikes map shows the big picture and is helpful for planning hikes that go through multiple parks.

Route
From Zwierlein Picnic Area, follow Crystal Springs Trail (2.8 miles) → left on Dean Trail (2.1 miles) → right on Crystal Springs Trail (0.2 miles) to return to Zwierlein Picnic Area.

Notes:

  1. The entire route is gently graded and shaded by tall trees.
  2. There are too many intersections along the route. So a good trail map would be handy. The official trail map is excellent. In September 2012, almost all intersections were marked by good quality signs.
  3. The intersections along Crystal Springs Trail near Toyon Group Camps are unmarked.
  4. Trails in the southern sections of the park are near Kings Mountain Road. So traffic noise is perceptible. Trails in the northern and eastern sections of the park are much quieter, amid second growth redwoods.
