From the entry kiosk, walk along a paved trail towards the swim lagoon, which is protected by a fence. Walk along the fence, through lawns and picnic areas to reach Shoreline Trail on the other side of the swim lagoon. Follow Shoreline Trail, then Ridgetop Trail to reach a bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right along Whispering Creek Trail. In May 2012, there were unmarked junctions along Whispering Creek Trail. Staying right at all junctions would keep you next to the lake. Eventually, the trail reaches Woodroe Avenue. Turn right and reach the entrance kiosk.
