Route

Route in brief: Mendoza Trail → Mummy Mountain Trail → Coyote Ridge Trail → Harve Bear Trail → Calaveras Trail → Valley Oak Trail → Coyote Ridge Trail.

Notes:

  1. Mummy Mountain Trail is not drawn in the online trail map. However, it is drawn on the park brochure / trail map available at the park entrance. The trail is parallel to Coyote Ridge Trail and Mendoza Trail, going through the point marked with a cross at elevation 1374'.
  2. In March 2011, half of the trails were quite muddy soon after heavy rains for a week. The mud would stick to our shoes, making them heavy.
  3. Some sections of the northern portion of Coyote Ridge Trail were difficult to negotiate because these are cattle grazing areas, so the grassy hills were quite uneven.
