Hikes in Alviso Marina County Park
1 Jan 2012
Alviso Marina County Park provides access to long hikes around salt marshes and ponds of Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. All hikes are on flat and wide unpaved roads which are open to cyclists. Elevation gain is almost zero. Plenty of picnic tables at park entrance. I found the trails in Alviso Marina very serene, quiet, with plenty of birds at various locations along the trails.

Best Months to Visit: All trails are in the open, so it would be quite hot in summers. It's said to be quite windy on most days. However, when I visited the park in August, I did not experience any wind.

Error in Trail Map: The online Trail Map seems to have an error. The section of Alviso SloughTrail that circumambulates Pond Number "A17" was 3.8 miles long as per my GPS in August 2010. It is marked as 2.7 miles long in the map.
