Hikes in Candlestick Point State Recreation Area
1 Jan 2012
Candlestick Point State Recreation Area is a small park in south-east San Francisco providing great views of San Francisco Bay. It offers short hikes on level ground. A 4-mile loop takes you through all major trails and points of interest in this park.

Best Months to Visit: Spring and summers are great. In winters, it would be cold and windy.

It might be windy near fishing piers, so dress appropriately.

There were few signs or trail posts. So a map would be helpful for a first trip.

The south-west section of the park is fairly close to Highway 101. So it was remarkably noisy. The eastern section is quieter.
