Hikes in Gazos Creek Beach

Gazos Creek Beach lies in the northern end of Año Nuevo State Park in Pescadero, CA. At low tide, you may walk almost a mile along the beach to the north. To the south of the beach, 1.3 miles away, lies a promontory called Franklin Point which offers great views of beaches and coastline on either side. Further south, you may walk along the Atkinson Bluff Trail for 1.3 miles to another long sandy beach. About 1.2 miles south, you reach Table Rock, beyond which public access is not allowed.

Best Months to Visit: Summers.

Trailheads: Free parking available at multiple access points. See Trail Map for their locations. From north to south:

  1. Parking lot in the north: Near the intersection of Highway 1 and Gazos Creek Road, Pescadero, CA 94060. This parking lot is not drawn on the trail map.
  2. Trail head for Franklin Point Trail: Pullout on Highway 1.
  3. Trail head for Atkinson Bluff Trail: Pullout on Highway 1
  4. Trail head for Whitehouse Creek Trail: Pullout on Highway 1.
  5. Trail head for Cascade Creek Trail: Pullout on Highway 1.
