Hikes in San Pablo Reservoir
1 Jan 2012
San Pablo Reservoir in Orinda, CA, has Old San Pablo Trail on its left shore. The trail goes all the way to Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area, which lies to the north of San Pablo Reservoir.

Best Months to Visit: Winter and spring are ideal. Avoid summers as some sections of Old San Pablo Trail are unshaded.

Notes:

  1. Hiking requires an EBMUD Trail Permit (only one person in a group needs the permit).
  2. Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area lies to the north. Trail maps: Map Side, Text Side and Lawn Area Map.
  3. Two trails connect Old San Pablo Trail to Tilden Regiona Park, which lies to the west of San Pablo Reservoir — these are Eagle's Nest Trail and Inspiration Trail. A 10+ mile loop may be formed by combining these trails with those in Tilden Regional Park.
  4. WolfPackEvents organizes Marathon next to San Pablo Reservoir.
  5. A long loop (INCH-style) is possible via Inspiration Point in Tilden Regional Park, through Eagle's Nest Trail.
