Hikes in Soquel Demonstration State Forest
1 Jan 2012
Soquel Demonstration Forest lies to the north of Forest of Nisene Marks in Aptos, CA. Fondly nicknamed 'Demo', the forest is a biker's delight. Lots of rugged fire roads, some of which connect with fire roads in Forest of Nisene Marks. Very few hikers visit the forest because of so many bikers who come whizzing past them. All trails are shaded. Any time of the year would be great for a hike.
List of Hikes

A variety of loops may be formed at Soquel Demonstration Forest. All loops are 'lollipop loops'. They start at the parking lot on Highlands Way and follow Hihn's Mill Road, a wide fire road, for 2.5 miles one way. Routes then climb up to Ridge Trail via any of four different hiking trails and descend back to Hihn's Mill Road to return to the parking lot.
