A pleasant walk to a quiet and infrequently visited beach near Half Moon Bay.

Location: Cowell Ranch State Beach

Route: Walk 0.5 miles to reach the staircase leading down to the beach. Walk along the beach (0.8 miles round-trip), then walk back up along the staircase. Explore the scenic overlook beyond the staircase and a bluff trail going north for a total of 0.6 miles round-trip. Then walk 0.5 miles back to the parking lot.

Location: along CA-1, 3.2 miles south of CA-92 . No street address. Parking area is visible in Google Maps if you zoom in sufficiently.

Directions: From CA-92 West, turn left onto CA-1 South. Drive for 3.2 miles to reach the parking lot for Cowell Ranch State Beach.
