Route

Route in brief: Start on the west side of CA-29 and follow Stevenson Memorial Trail for 0.8 miles. At the junction with Mt St Helena Trail, turn left. Mt St Helena Trail is a wide fire road that goes all the way to Mt St Helena. Return by the same route.

Trailhead

Location: along Highway 29 in Calistoga, CA 94515 . No street address. Parking area is visible in Google Maps if you zoom in sufficiently.

Directions: Drive along I-80 North, then take exit 33 onto CA-37. Drive west on CA-37 for 2.5 miles. Turn right on CA-29 and drive for 38 miles until it meets CA-128. Continue driving for another 9 miles on CA-29 into Robert Louis Stevenson State Park. Look for parking and trail signs, which are on both sides of the road near the trailhead.
