The hike is composed of three segments:
  • 1.0 miles round-trip from the parking lot to the beginning of the jetty, which is marked with large warning signs.
  • 0.4 miles round-trip from the beginning of the jetty to the western end of the beach at Pillar Point Harbor.
  • You may consider boulder hopping along the jetty for 1.4 miles round-trip: this is a potentially dangerous activity because the rocks are large sized and because big waves may come unexpectedly. There are warning signs in big red letters at the beginning of the jetty informing you of the dangers.
Trailhead

Location: along West Point Avenue, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019 . No street address. Parking area is visible in Google Maps if you zoom in sufficiently.

Directions: The trailhead lies in the western end of West Point Avenue. Please study Google Maps for details.

Jetty Scramble

Scrambling on the jetty rocks could be dangerous. There is a big warning sign in red at the start of the jetty warning you of its dangers.
