Hikes in Crystal Springs Regional Trail

Crystal Springs Regional Trail is a popular running trail parallel to Highway 280 in San Mateo. It is adjacent to Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir and San Andreas Lake. Yelp reviews are highly positive.

Best Months to Visit: Any time other than hot days in summers.

Trail Segments: Crystal Springs Regional Trail is composed of three segments (the first two are connected, the last two shall be connected in future):

  1. San Andreas segment (2.6 miles)
  2. Sawyer Camp segment (6.0 miles) — most scenic and popular
  3. Crystal Springs segment (6.7 miles)

Bicycle Sundays: Information and MapYelp Reviews. From 9:00am to 3:00 pm on Sundays, 3.8 miles of Cañada Road between Filoli Gardens entrance and Highway 92 is closed to motor vehicles. Only non-motorized activities including jogging, bicycling, hiking, roller-skating, and walking (strollers are welcome) are allowed. Hikers and runners have a choice: they may choose use Crystal Springs hiking trail that runs parallel to Cañada Road.
