Gray Whale Cove Beach in Pacifica, CA is a quiet sandy beach. It is connected to Montara State Beach via Gray Whale Cove Trail that meanders along hills lying to the west of Highway 1. No crosswalk from the parking lot on the west of Highway 1 to the beach. Watch out for traffic.

After crossing Highway 1, the entrance to Gray Whale Cove Beach is not immediately visible. You have to walk a few steps north along Highway 1 to reach a paved trail with a gate that takes you down to the beach.
