Hikes in Joseph D Grant County Park
1 Jan 2012
Joseph Grant County Park, also known as Grant Ranch, is an expansive & beautiful park in East San Jose. The park is very similar in appearance to Sunol Regional Wilderness with green rolling hills, wide trails and abundance of spring wildflowers. Many trails have steep sections.

Best Months to Visit: Almost all trails are unshaded, so avoid summers. Spring and winters are great times to visit the park.

Misc: No cell phone coverage in and around the park in April 2010. There are 50+ miles of trails in this park. You can form many interesting loops. Most trails go through cattle grazing areas, so you're likely to encounter cattle.

Parking Fees: $6 in April 2010 if you park in main parking lot. Parking is free at Grant Lake parking lot (on the other side of the road, close to the park entrance) and Twin Gates trailhead (about 3.3 miles away from main park entrance).
