Mt Burdell in Novato, CA, offers great views of the bay area and spring wildflower displays. The park is relatively small, offering 5-mile, 1100-ft hikes from the main parking lot to Mt Burdell and back.

Best Months to Visit: Any time except summers (all trails are in the open and hills are no longer green) and during rains.

Notes: There are unmarked trails next to Big Tank Fire Rd and Michako Trail, so some intuition would be necessary to find your way. For several months in spring and early summer, the park allows cattle to graze. So be prepared to meet cows along the way.
