Best Months to Visit: Spring would be a great time to see wildflowers. Summers would be hot but tolerable because almost all the trails in Olompali are in forest cover.
All trails in Olompali have gentle slope. There are no steep sections. Lower Mt Burdell Trail (marked as "Loop Trail" on signposts) is quite rocky. The park was closed for most of 2010 - please check park website for closures. Mount Burdell may also be reached via adjoining Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve. Trails from both parks may be combined to form a 16-mile loop described below.
Large parking lot. Parking fees was $6 in May 2010. The park was closed due to CA state budget cuts. The ranger allowed me to park the car outside the park and let me hike up to Mt Burdell.
