Hikes in Pinole Valley Park
1 Jan 2012
Pinole Valley Park is a small park in Pinole, CA with a steep trail called Downer Trail that connects with Sobrante Ridge Trail in adjacent Sobrante Ridge Regional Preserve. Trails from these two parks may be combined to form interesting routes from 4 to 8 miles long.

Best Months to Visit: Downer Trail is completely shaded. However, trails in Sobrante Ridge are all in the open. So avoid summers. In winters and spring, you may enjoy panoramic views of lush green hills and residential complexes from atop Sobrante Ridge Trail.

Poison Oak: Poison oak is abundant along trails. There are large signs at trail entrance warning you of its presence.
