Patanjali's 8-Step Path to salvation forms the basis of many Hindu traditions. Three of these 8 steps are Yoga, Pranayama and Dhyana, with Yoga (postures) facilitating Pranayama (breathing exercises), which in turns facilitates Dhyana (meditation).
