A point to point hike from Sunol to Ohlone College, mostly along Ohlone Wilderness Trail. Lush green hills and great views from the top.

Permit: Make sure you have a permit to hike along Ohlone Wilderness Trail. Permits are available at Sunol entrance kiosk and online.

To Mission Peak (5.1 miles): Follow Ohlone Wilderness Trail (4.3 miles) → left on Eagle Trail (0.3 miles) → right on Eagle Loop Trail (0.1 miles) → right on Peak Trail (0.4 miles) to reach the top.

To Ohlone College (3.5 miles): From Mission Peak, continue along Peak Trail (0.6 miles) to reach a restroom. Continue descending along Peak Trail (2.6 miles) to reach the trailhead for Mission Peak, near horse stables. Continue along the sidewalk parallel to Pine St to reach the intersection of Pine St with Mission Blvd (0.3 miles).

Directions:

From Fremont: Drive north on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road. Turn right on Calaveras and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.

From Oakland/Berkeley: Drive east on I-580 to the junction with I-680 in Pleasanton. At the junction, go south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.

From Walnut Creek/Danville: Go south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.

Directions: From I-880 North, take exit 12A and merge onto Mission Blvd toward Sacramento / I-680. Continue for 2.2 miles along Mission Blvd. Ohlone College lies at the intersection with Pine St. According to instructions here, you may park in lots M, N, O or P for fees collected at vending machines. For locations of these lots, see Map of Ohlone College. One may park on Mission Blvd itself, then walk 0.3 miles along Pine St to reach the trailhead for Mission Peak. There are signs along Pine St.
