A point to point hike from Sunol to Stanford Ave trailhead. Awesome valley views and lush green hills in spring.
Location: Sunol Regional Wilderness Preserve — Mission Peak Regional Preserve

Permit: Make sure you have a permit to hike along Ohlone Wilderness Trail. Permits are available at Sunol entrance kiosk and online.
To Mission Peak (5.1 miles): Follow Ohlone Wilderness Trail (4.3 miles) → left on Eagle Trail (0.3 miles) → right on Eagle Loop Trail (0.1 miles) → right on Peak Trail (0.4 miles) to reach the top.
To Stanford Ave (3.0 miles): From Mission Peak, continue along Peak Trail (0.5 miles) → left on Ohlone Wilderness Trail (0.3 miles) to intersection with Grove Trail. Continue along Ohlone Wilderness Trail (0.7 miles) to intersection with Peak Meadow Trail. Continue along Ohlone Wilderness Trail (1.5 miles) to reach Stanford Ave trailhead.

Directions:
From Fremont: Drive north on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road. Turn right on Calaveras and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.
From Oakland/Berkeley: Drive east on I-580 to the junction with I-680 in Pleasanton. At the junction, go south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.
From Walnut Creek/Danville: Go south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.

Directions: From I-880, take Mission Blvd exit towards Sacramento / I-680. After driving two miles along Mission Blvd, turn right onto Stanford Ave. Within 0.8 miles, there is a parking lot for Mission Peak.

Capacity: About 20 cars may be parked here. Plenty of parking along Stanford Ave and residential complexes nearby. Parking is usually tight due to the popularity of the park.
